Picture yourself walking through an open air market place...beautiful colors, beautiful music, clothing, trinkets, beads, dolls, flags from many countries, as far as the eye can see. Smell the aroma of luscious foods as you sample them, tapas-style. Watch performers as they dance, sing, demonstrate feats of wonder...all in one room. Let us take you around the world!

You are about to experience one of the most wonderful events ever to hit Kiker Elementary; this event is an "international" phenomenon!

Booths showcase a country's culture through a variety of: displays, crafts, photographs, games, DVD slide shows, traditional clothing, etc. Children receive a passport to be stamped at each country.

Participating Countries:

SWEDEN, INDIA, IRAN, GERMANY, GREECE, JAPAH, KOREA ..... stay tuned as we unveil more of the countries participating!

Entertainment on Stage: Entertainment to be announced soon (the entertainment line-up in the past has included a Mariachi Band, Tae Kwon Do Demonstrations, Korean Dance Group, Capoeira Evolucao, Tinikling Dance, Scottish bagpipes and more...)

International Night Potluck Supper Buffet: The "price of admission" for International Night is a tasty dish to share in our worldwide-potluck-supper buffet. (dishes shared in the past have included Pao de Queijo, German Potato Salad, Sopapilla Cheesecake, Mujaddara, Philippine Lumpia Cardenas, Swedish Meatballs, Koshari, Samosas, Irish Soda Bread, and many more.)

Showcasing International Culture Leading up to International Night

1)"Assembly Greetings in Different Languages".  Kiker students have the opportunity during morning assembly to share a short 'greeting' in his/her native tongue. Sign your child up to do an assembly greeting in their native tongue -> MySignup LInk... - deadline to sign-up Dec 14th

2) "Assembly Parade of Nations" - On the morning of International Night, we have a parade of countries during morning assembly. Kiker students can represent their country and walk in the parade, with flags, signs, native costumes etc. Sign your child up to participate in the Parade representing their native country.-> MySignup Link - deadline to sign-up Dec 14th

3) "Cultural Hallway Display" - The halls of Kiker are decorated with student's cultural art projects. See kites, lanterns, masks, weaving, and colored country flags and more.

4) "Gymnasium Flags & Wall Mural" - Kiker's gymnasium has a year-round display of all the country flags that are represented in the student body, and a permanent world map mural painted by a kiker parent.


A selection of Country Flags are displayed from the ceiling of the Kiker Cafeteria. The flags represent the heritage of our Kiker Students, and suport our bi-annual International Night Event.
