Kiker Comments Weekly CommunicationKiker's primary method of communication is a weekly email update called 'Kiker Comments' that is sent out via the kiker yahoo group. You will need to sign up to receive this information. To sign-up to receive the Kiker Comments, go http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kiker/ and click on the 'JOIN' button. Student Take Home FoldersRelevant communication materials, such as classroom newsletters, activity notices, and more are sent home in your child's take home folder on Fridays for your review. [Note: the deadline to submit school-wide flyers/notes for inclusion in the Friday take-home folder is WEDNESDAY at 2:00pm] Parent-Student HandbookThe student handbook provides a resource for some of the basic information that families will need during the school year. Topics are organized alphabetically by topic for quick access when searching for information on a specific issue. Download the parent-student handbook here. Kiker PTA WebsiteThe Kiker PTA web pages provide updated information on special events, volunteer opportunities, fundraising and more. The homepage is updated frequently with information from the Kiker Comments to help keep you informed. Visit Kiker PTA's homepage at http://www.kikerpta.org Room Parent Communication/Class DirectoryEvery class will have a room parent co-ordinator(s) who acts as a liason between the teacher and classmates' families. A class directory is provided, and a group email list established for ease of classroom communications. Kiker Comet Student DirectoryA Kiker Comet Student Directory, published by the PTA, will come home via your child's backpack within the first couple of months of school. The directory is a handy reference listing of Kiker personnel, teaching staff, room parents, and class rosters. AISD/Kiker "School Messenger" Phone MessagesAISD uses an automated phone message system called "School Messenger" to communicate important district information out to AISD families. Kiker also may use school messanger to commuicate important time-sensitive information by phone. They system is also used to notify parents of students that are absent from school for all or part of the day. |
