The Kiker PTA provides parents an opportunity to take an active role in their child's education. Kiker PTA supports Kiker Elementary by fundraising, organizing volunteers, and coordinating many valuable initiatives at Kiker each year. Some examples of our recent events and funding support include:

2010-2011 KIKER PTA KEY EVENTS:

• Game Night: A night of family fun with board games galore, Big Bubba in the gym and board games as prizes!
• Art Night: A night of creativity and student masterpieces hosted by our wonderful art teachers, Ms. Swint and Ms. Duncan
• Physics Circus: Science experiments and oohs and aahs filled the Kiker cafeteria for this fascinating show by University of Texas Physics Dept.  
• Book Swap: Students brought in books and swapped with others in this fun event where everyone left with an armful of new books
• Spelling Bee & Math Pentathlon: Kids practiced and mastered their ABC's and 123's

2010-2011 KIKER PTA KEY FUNDING SUPPORT:

• Purchased start up supplies to allow our Rocket Reader program (formerly Camp Read) to expand to Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades
• Provided 3 festive buffet lunches for Teacher Appreciation days
• Provided funding for each teacher for classroom supplies
• Provided funding to assist with cost of classroom books and subscriptions
• Provided funding for new library books and software
• Provided funding for Reflections Program
• Provided funding for printing of Kiker Directory (one per family free of charge)

Kiker PTA's initiatives are only made possible thanks to the strong Kiker Community support of our annual fundraising events, which include: School Spirit Shirts & Water Bottle Sale, Fall PTA fundraiser, Pavers Sale, and our Back-to-school supplies Pre-Order Program.
